With the WinDrive, Voith Turbo offers wind turbine manufacturers an innovative drive train component that converts a broad range of input speeds into constant output speed. This enables the device to generate electricity just as effectively as a conventional power plant, reliably and converter-less – without placing a strain on the network.
WinDrive
- Variable-speed, hydrodynamic gearbox
- Variable input speeds from the wind rotor
- Constant output speeds to the generator
Main WinDrive components:
- Planetary gearing (superimposed gearing)
- Hydrodynamic torque converter
Main components of wind turbine drive train:
- Wind rotor
- Main shaft
- Main gear box
- WinDrive
- Generator
