New Retarder from Voith Wins European Transport Prize for Sustainability

Latest Voith Retarder receives the European Transport Prize for Sustainability 2012. The prize was presented during a festive ceremony in Munich in the evening of 29 November 2011. In the category Commercial Vehicle Components, the Voith secondary water retarder stood its ground amid a field of strong competitors. The award by the Munich publishing house Huss (Huss-Verlag) covers seven categories and honors all company in the transport industry who combine commercial success with social responsibility and eco-friendly activities in an exemplary way. Voith is delighted that the company’s sustainable thinking has been honored with this award by some very prominent experts within the transport industry.

DB German Railways Rates Voith as "Outstanding"

DB German Railways has rewarded Voith Turbo Lokomotivtechnik (VTLT) for its product quality and commercial performance: the rail operator has assessed VTLT's services from the quotation for 130 locomotives type Gravita 10 BB right through to the delivery of the first vehicles. With the top ranking "outstanding", the overall verdict is more than gratifying - not least because Voith is one of the first DB vehicle suppliers to receive this high commendation.

State Economy Minister Ernst Pfister Presents Dr. Günter Armbruster with the German Order of Merit in Heidenheim
"Combining Professional Qualifications with Voluntary Services” 

Dr. Günter Armbruster was today presented with the Cross of the Order of Merit on Ribbon of the Federal Republic of Germany by State Economy Minister Ernst Pfister in recognition of his outstanding services to the Voith Group of Companies, as well as his manifold voluntary and philanthropic activities that had a positive impact on the business location Heidenheim and Baden-Württemberg as a whole.
"In you, we are honoring an entrepreneurial personality with a social conscience who has combined his professional qualifications with voluntary commitment and personal humility,” said the Minister at the ceremony in Heidenheim.

Voith Retarder is "Best Brand" 2010

More than 7 700 readers of the trade magazines "lastauto omnibus", "trans aktuell" and "Fernfahrer" have cast their vote and decided: in 2010, the retarder from Voith Turbo is once again the "Best Brand”. Drivers and commercial vehicle operators have thus voted the high-performance continuous brake to the number one spot for the fourth time in a row.

March 3rd 2010: Minister President of Baden-Württemberg Inaugurates New Voith Transmission Plant

“From Heidenheim to the rails of the world” – this is how Dr. Hubert Lienhard, Chairman of the Board of Voith AG, showcased the principle in his inauguration speech. He thanked the politicians in town and country for jointly creating the framework conditions for the 40-million-Euro investment project. “We have met with excellent conditions for the future development and production of leading-edge technology “Made in Germany” with some 230 highly qualified employees on 17000 square meters,” Lienhard continued.
